講演の主題は、ナンセンの生涯や業績に焦点をあてたものから現在国際的に議論を呼んでいる問題まで多岐にわたります。
フリチョフ・ナンセンは、人道的活動家でもあり、特にロシア革命に続く1921年から23年のロシア飢餓救済に尽力したことがよく知られています。国際連盟難民高等弁務官としての功績により、1922年ノーベル平和賞を授与されました。
Fridtjof NansenThe Fridtjof Nansen Memorial Lectures
Instituted in 1990, the Fridjtof Nansen Memorial Lectures commemorate the birth of the renowned scientist and diplomat Fridtjof Nansen. In connection with Nansen's birthday, 10 October, lectures are given every year in several cities around the world including Japan.
The lecture topics focus on the life and work of Nansen, as well as current issues of international debate. Thus the spirit and achievement of Fridtjof Nansen are linked to the world today.
The Fridtjof Nansen Memorial Lectures are organized by the Royal Ministry of Foreign Affairs in cooperation with the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters.
It is the hope of the Royal Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters that the Fridtjof Nansen Memorail Lectures will provide new insight into the work and ideals of Fridtjof Nansen.
